This Simple Hack Eliminates Unsightly Creases on Sneakers
When we pay a lot of money for something, we’re usually hoping it will last and look good for a really long time. This is true for everything from big purchases like houses and cars to smaller (yet still pricey) purchases like jewelry and clothing.
For some people out there, the big ticket item they’re standing in line to buy is a new pair of sneakers. For us, sneakers are for chasing after our kids or going for a long run (great for stress relief), but for true sneakerheads, they’re a lot more important.
A limited edition pair of sneakers can be important for fashion, style and status. Certainly, if you were lucky enough to score a pair for hundreds or even thousands of dollars, you’d want them to look like new for a long time.
Besides scuffs and stains, the one thing that makes a pair of sneakers look old is when it gets creases in the leather. Those creases basically say, hey, I’ve been worn a lot and I’m not new anymore. It’s like wrinkles for shoes.
Shantel loves her sneakers. When she was growing up, she didn’t have nearly as many pairs of shoes as she wanted, so she told herself that when she grew up and had money to spend, she would buy herself more pairs of shoes and share tips on sales so other people could get more shoes too.
Since she loves her sneakers and since she’s willing to shell out hard earned money on great ones, it’s important to her to keep them looking like new as long as possible. Staying true to her word in helping other people with tips about shoes, she shared a tip about how to keep them looking new longer.
Her tip, which she shared via Twitter, is simple and effective. She showed a picture of a white sneaker with creases in the leather. Then she showed a picture of the same white sneaker without the creases.

It turns out that she was able to remove the creases with just a few simple ingredients and a few simple steps.
She says that you only need the following things:
– Socks/old clothes/ tissue paper
– Small towel/cloth
– Hot water
She goes on to share the simple steps
Step 1: stuff your shoe with the socks/old clothes or tissue paper to the point where you can’t see the crease anymore and when you press on the top of the shoe it doesn’t move.
Step 2: wet your small towel or cloth with hot water, then squeeze the water out so it’s damp
Step 3: place your towel or cloth on top of the crease
Step 4: iron the towel or cloth with VIM but be sure to keep lifting the iron up or you’ll burn your shoe! Depending how bad the crease is determines the time in which it will take to get rid of the crease!
Her post has been retweeted 134,000 times, and it has received numerous comments with before and after pictures that are true success stories. For example, one person wrote, “Omg I can’t believe this worked! Thank you so much!!”
