Electrician Fixes Struggling Couple’s Broken Heat for Free. Then They Lure His Back for a Fake Re-inspection.

It’s been a super cold winter so far in a lot of the country, like way below freezing. Like, so cold that the postal service temporarily stopped delivering mail in parts of 11 states.

Imagine walking into your home this winter only to discover that the heat wasn’t working. What would you do? We’d probably check the breakers, and then we’d call an electrician. After all, having heat in the winter is essential, especially this winter.

Now, imagine walking into your home to discover that the heat isn’t working and knowing that you can’t afford to pay an electrician to fix it. That’s exactly what happened to Stacy and Josh Lemonds.

The Lemonds had recently joined a marriage group at their church in Oklahoma. Instead of calling an electrician, they reached out to their marriage group asking for prayer.

A man in the marriage group, Joshua Matthews responded back to them in minutes. He was an electrician who only lived about 10 minutes away, and even though he barely knew the Lemonds, he insisted on coming out to take a look at the problem.

Things got worse before they got better. Matthews saw that the wires weren’t in great shape, so the electric company got involved and discovered that the wiring could be a fire hazard. They pulled the meter and said the Lemonds couldn’t use any electricity until the electrical issue was fixed.

Matthews, who is an apprentice for Dane Electric, worked tirelessly day and night in cold and wet weather to get the Lemonds’ electricity working once again. Dane Electric didn’t charge the couple a penny for the job.

This isn’t the first time Matthew has given back. He’s a veteran who has completed two tours in Afghanistan.

Obviously, the Lemonds couldn’t stay in their home without any heat or electricity. While the electricity wasn’t working, other members of the marriage group pitched in to put the Lemonds up in a hotel for a few nights.

Finally back in their home, the Lemonds are so thankful for all the help they received, and they wanted to do something to give back. With the help of a local news station and a local bank, they were able to do just that.

Watch the video below to see how they surprised Matthews in a very generous way that he never expected.

Have you ever had your heat stop working in the winter? If so, what did you do?
