Here’s a Genius Way to Eat Ice-Cream!
The only way enjoying a nice, cold scoop of ice cream could get better? If you can eat the ice cream bowl, too! Luckily, thanks to this simple and brilliant summer trick, now you can. Achieving this edible chocolate ice cream bowl is so much easier than you might be anticipating. It’s a great project to do with the kids and it’s simple to make a few at once if you’re hosting next week’s play date! Watch the video below to see how you can make this classic sweet treat a little bit sweeter.
Who doesn’t want to be like Willy Wonka? And by that I mean, who doesn’t want to be able to munch into edible chocolate bowls and teacups? Dare I say, that is the dream.
To pull off this yummy project you’ll need a surprising tool – some latex balloons. Of course, if you or your kids are allergic to latex, you can find some non-latex balloons online!
YOU’LL NEED
– Balloons
– Wax paper
– Melted chocolate
– Sprinkles
STEP 1: Blow up your balloons.
STEP 2: Melt your chocolate of choice in a microwave safe bowl, stirring every once and while as the chocolate melts.
STEP 3: Once the chocolate is melted and the balloons are blown up, you can stick the large, rounded ends into the chocolate. Move them all around so a little less than half of the balloon is covered in chocolate.
STEP 4: Cover the chocolate balloon in sprinkles.
STEP 5: Set the balloons on a baking tray lined with wax paper and put in the fridge to harden.
STEP 6: Once the chocolate is hard, use a scissor or skewer to gently pop a hole in the top of the balloon and let it deflate. You can gently peel the balloon remains away from the inside of your new chocolate bowl.
Then you know what to do! Fill with ice cream and toppings and enjoy. If sprinkles or chocolate pieces broke off from the balloon, never fear. You can use them as toppings, too!
