Easy Cheddar Bay Biscuits Better Than The Original
Let’s be real: the main reason anybody goes to Red Lobster is for those ridiculously addicting Cheddar Bay biscuits. You might think the restaurant version has some sort of magical secret recipe, but I bet even if they do, it doesn’t hold a candle to Gooseberry Patch’s copycat version that’s just as good – if not better! – than the real thing.
You’ll Need:
– 2 1/2 cups biscuit baking mix
– 6 tablespoons chilled butter, divided
– 3/4 cup milk
– 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
– 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder, divided
– 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
– 1/8 teaspoon salt
How To:
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Combine the biscuit mix and 4 tablespoons of the butter in a bowl. Mix with a fork just until crumbly.
- Stir in the milk, cheese and 1/4 teaspoon of the garlic powder until just combined.
- Scoop the batter onto ungreased baking sheet. Each scoop should be about 1/4 cup.
- Bake for 15 to 17 minutes, until golden.
- While the biscuits bake, melt the remaining butter and combine it with the parsley, salt and remaining garlic powder in a small bowl.
- Brush hot biscuits generously with the butter mixture. Serve warm.
This recipe is dangerous. I’m probably going to make these all the time! I know not everybody’s a fan of the baking mix, but you can use this recipe when you’re short on time, and adapt it with your own biscuit recipe when your schedule’s clear! What do you think? Have you ever tried to make these biscuits? What are your favorite restaurant copycat recipes?
