DIY Microwave Popcorn
This bright idea comes from Leigh from Cheap Healthy Good. She got to thinking one day that DIY microwave popcorn should be easy if you have loose popcorn kernels (which are cheaper than the pre-bagged stuff) and recycled paper bags. It turns out that she was right. She was able to make inexpensive, healthy microwave popcorn that she could season herself. Take a look at her simple steps for DIY microwave popcorn.
Here’s What You Do:
- Take a small, recycled paper bag and fill it with 1/4 cup popcorn kernels. Fold over and place in the microwave with the flap side down.
- Microwave on high up to 4 minutes. Make sure carousel is spinning. Fold or reshape bag as necessary if it gets stuck.
- When the popping stops, dump kernels into a bowl. If you have any kernels that didn’t pop, you can put those back in the bag and into the microwave for up to 2 minutes.
- Season to taste and enjoy your healthy popcorn without processed butter gunk!
