The British royal family is not in the habit of sharing personal details about their health struggles publicly. For example, minimal details have been given about why Princess Kate was in the hospital in January. All that the public has been told is that she had a “planned abdominal surgery.”

The situation is quite different this time around when it comes to King Charles III and his health. It has previously been publicly announced that the King has cancer, but now, sources are sharing even more details.

Sources spoke exclusively to In Touch about the King’s health, and it looks like his reign as king is going to be quite short.

A source who spoke to In Touch, shared that details about the King’s health are “an open secret” among royal staff members. Another source explained, “Even before the diagnosis, there were concerns about his health.” “King Charles is much sicker than the palace lets on and simply isn’t up to the job of running his fractious family, the crown’s business interests and fulfilling the daily duties of the monarchy.”

On January 26, 2024, King Charles III had a planned surgery for a benign enlarged prostate.

On February 5, the public was informed of the king’s cancer diagnosis. The statement explained, “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.” The statement added, “Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”

Since his diagnosis, the king has performed a few public duties. According to one source, this is “not only to squash the wild conspiracy theories and false reports of his death, but to ensure people that he’s still able to perform his duties as king.”

The In Touch source added that the king is “willing to try any treatment to extend his life by a few years, at least.” Currently, the king has only been given 2 years to live. The source has revealed King Charles has pancreatic cancer and it is an open secret amongst the palace staff.

While King Charles is “following doctors orders,” he also knows that his son, Prince William, will become king when he dies. According to a source, the king “tends to worry himself” wondering if is son is prepared to become the head monarch. The source shared, “His aides can tell that Charles still worries about his legacy.”
