Glancing up into the clouds and spotting an image can be comforting, funny, or scary. We’ve become so accustomed to seeing (and looking for) things in cloud formations that the habit’s been passed on to other mediums.

It’s true. People see faces, animals, and other objects in food. We see them in water, trees, rust stains, and ultrasounds. Among the most common phenomena are religious figures like Jesus, Mary, saints, and popes. Pennsylvania couple Zac Smith and Alicia Zeek landed in the news for what they believe is Jesus in their unborn daughter’s sonogram picture.

When Alicia was handed the photo she immediately was shocked by what she saw, and her fiancé became emotional. Both parents are convinced that it’s Jesus wearing a cloak and a crown of thorns looking at their baby. Though neither consider themselves to be religious, it felt like a message from the heavens.

 
In this video from Fox 43, they share that the first two children were born with complications, and that this was a sign that their new baby was going to be all right. It brought an incredible sense of peace to them. The oldest child was born with a condition called pre-axial polydactyl that affects one hand which caused the little girl to have two thumbs.
 
Alicia’s pregnancy and labor with her second child, Kayson, was a difficult one and almost resulted in her death. In addition, the baby boy was born with a cleft palate and lip, so the couple was understandably worried about this pregnancy and baby.
 
Doctors assured the expectant parents that baby Briella would be fine, but to them, Jesus showed up to reassure them about their daughter’s health and well-being. Zac told Fox 43:

“The angel or God or Jesus, however you want to propose it, I look at it as my blessing.”

They were right! Briella was born totally healthy in August without any complications and Alicia and Zac couldn’t be happier. They aren’t the only parents who have seen astonishing ultrasound images either. There have been rockers’ devil horns, cars, twins embracing each other, as well as holy figures.
 
As far as Jesus sightings, we’re sure you’ve heard the stories of him showing up all over the world in pancakes, potato chips, bread, clouds, and of course, ultrasounds. This wasn’t the first time the religious icon has been spotted and probably won’t be the last.
 
At a time when this couple was feeling anxious and worried about their daughter, this moment gave them hope. Sometimes we get what need in ways we least expect it, and without even asking!
