Comedian and social media personality Laura Clery is opening up about a frightening household accident that nearly turned deadly after a massive refrigerator reportedly collapsed on top of her while she was alone at home with her children.

The 39-year-old shared details of the terrifying incident in an emotional Instagram video, calling it “the most terrifying night” of her life and admitting she truly believed she might not survive.

According to Clery, the accident happened while she was getting ready for bed. Without warning, a roughly 600-pound refrigerator allegedly tipped forward and slammed into her, trapping her against the kitchen counter.

“I couldn’t move. Couldn’t breathe right,” she wrote in her post. “It was impossible to get off and I could feel myself losing consciousness.”

The frightening situation became even more alarming because Clery said her two young children were inside the house at the time.

“My kids were in the house,” she explained. “I genuinely didn’t know if I was getting out of that alive.”

Thankfully, Clery said she still had her phone in her pocket and was able to call 911 before losing consciousness. Emergency crews reportedly responded quickly and forced their way through her garage to reach her.

“It took three firefighters to lift it off me,” she shared. “I’m still shaking.”

The influencer later posted clips showing first responders helping carry her from the home and into an ambulance while she wore a neck brace following the accident.

From inside the ambulance, Clery praised the firefighters who rescued her and said she was overwhelmed with gratitude that the outcome was not even worse.

“This was right after the fentanyl hit and all of my pain went away instantly,” she joked in part of the caption accompanying the video footage. “I just need to say thank you to these amazing firefighters who saved my life!! Truly.”

Clery said the emergency crew acted quickly and calmly during the terrifying ordeal.

“They got there so fast, broke through my garage door, and three of them pushed a 600-pound fridge off of me and got me safely to the trauma unit before things got worse,” she explained.

Despite the severity of the accident, Clery said she avoided catastrophic injuries. She later revealed that she suffered no broken bones and was still able to walk after the incident.

“I keep thinking about how differently this could have gone,” she wrote. “I just feel overwhelming gratitude.”

The comedian also expressed relief that her children were unharmed and never physically injured during the frightening emergency.

“No broken bones, my kids are okay and safe, I can walk… I’m so lucky,” she added.

Known for her comedic sketches and candid online videos, Clery has built a large social media following over the years by sharing humorous — and often deeply personal — moments from her life. But fans quickly flooded her comments with concern after learning how close the situation may have come to tragedy.

“They were calm, kind and just handled everything like absolute heroes,” Clery said of the firefighters who rescued her.

As she continues recovering, many fans are now praising the comedian for speaking openly about the frightening experience and reminding others how quickly unexpected household accidents can become life-threatening.
