A very clever carpenter has created an Ingenious type of window that uses falling sand for blinds. What is sort of ironic about using sand inside the window for blinds is that sand is the main material used for making glass.

Check out the embedded video below to see how it works. The following sand filling up the window and block out light is impressive but we are more impressed with how the sand drains away.

What we also love about this idea is you don’t need to buy costly blinds or window treatments for these windows.

We’re not sure entirely how this window works. Obviously the sand must be contained in the frame. We also suspect that the sand acts as a good insulation too.
