Boy Who Was Thrown Off Balcony at Mall of America Suffered ‘Zero Brain Damage’ According to Pastor

The little boy who was thrown from a mall balcony two weeks ago is expected to survive. When news hit of the shocking incident, many wondered if he would make a healthy recovery.

Although the 5-year-old’s family has yet to make a public statement on his current condition, one of their church pastors, Mac Hammond, told congregation members that the boy was found to have “zero brain damage.” During his sermon, he shared that he visited with the family to pray before a 5-hour MRI procedure.

After the test, he said doctors called the boy’s recovery “a miracle” and similar to a bicycle fall. On April 12, the boy, Landen, was at Mall of America with his mother and a friend. A stranger – who was later identified as Emmanuel Aranda – grabbed the boy and threw him from a third story balcony.

As a result of the horrific attack, Landen suffered multiple broken bones, facial fractures, and head injuries. He has been in intensive care and will need to have ongoing surgeries to help him heal. A family friend launched a GoFundMe campaign to help with the costs of his medical and rehabilitative care.

So far, generous donors have given more than $900,000 towards the $1,000,000 goal. Recently, the family issued a statement through the account to thank people for their support and good prayers. Hammond reminded the church to keep the family in their prayers as they are working.
