Super personal question: when you were in the throes of labor, about to give birth to your treasured little one, was it you or your partner that drove your growing family to the hospital?

It might seem like a no-brainer, right? After all, it is against the law to drive impaired, and we’re pretty sure that enduring extraordinarily painful labor pains counts as “driving while impaired!”

But legality aside, it seems as though “driving while about to push out a baby” is set to become the latest trend because–get this–everyone’s favorite Hollywood starlet admitted that she was the one that drove to the hospital pre-birth, not her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

Yep, pret-ty embarrassing, considering the guy’s known for being a brawny action star. Apparently, those alpha-male roles that he plays are much more of a stretch for him than we could have ever imagined!

The shocking revelation came to light when Blake Lively started the press campaign for her new film, A Simple Favor on Twitter. After posting a teaser trailer, the supportive Reynolds responded with this tweet:

You can tell me. We’re married. You once drove me to the hospital when you were giving birth. So..what the f–k happened to Emily?

Clearly, the latter half of his tweet is referring to the mysterious vanishing of Lively’s character in her new film–but what really got our attention was the first part of the tweet. Quite the revelation!

Though Reynolds or Lively didn’t divulge any further details about that perilous drive to the hospital, it’s safe to say that the two are masters at promoting their films. Seriously, these two should teach a PR course– in just one tweet we learned that Blake Lively would be staring a new movie AND we learned that she is the preferred family driver, even when set to give birth.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, both stories went viral within hours. Impressive!

Before megastars Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds wed in 2012, they were simply two popular Hollywood actors who were famous for their good looks, successful movies, and much-publicized relationships. Reynolds had been previously married to starlet and former co-star Scarlett Johansson and Lively was linked to numerous silver screen hunks.

But, once the two met on the set of Green Lantern in 2011–and subsequently married at a ceremony in South Carolina just one year later– it suddenly became clear that they had their eyes set on being this generation’s Hollywood “it” couple.

Since then, the dynamic duo has had two gorgeous kids, James who was born in 2014 and Inez who was born in 2016. And, although they regularly battle against the ever-present breakup rumors that seem to hang over the heads of all famous pairs, both Reynolds and Lively seem pretty happy to us!
