Bingo Brawl Breaks Out at Canadian Nursing Home Between Two Elderly Women
When you think of people who play Bingo on the regular, what do you think of? A bunch of amicable, happy elderly people, right? Sure, it might be a cliché, but at least that’s how Bingo players are usually displayed in the movies!
However, one incident that recently occurred at a Canadian nursing home was anything but this happy image. In fact, it was the total opposite.
When the Leeds County Ontario Provincial Police Department received a call for a “Bingo brawl,” they were a bit confused.
“It was certainly an unusual call for us,” said Leeds County Ontario Provincial Police spokesperson Const. Sandra Barr.
It turns out that a 79-year-old woman who was attending the Bingo night that evening sat down in a seat that a different 86-year-old woman usually sits during the game, not knowing that was the case.
The 86-year-old was not having it. She told the woman that she was sitting in her seat and she needed to move to a different one.
Of course, this woman didn’t own this chair—her name wasn’t on it or anything. So the 79-year-old woman sitting there didn’t think she had any reason to get up—and she didn’t.
Well that didn’t go over so well. Officers said the fight actually escalated into a physical altercation, and that other residents took notice of the argument and turned it into somewhat of a brawl.
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured, no charges were made, and no paramedics were needed.
Police were able to calm everyone down, though it’s unclear if Bingo still went on as planned. We’d be really interested to know if one of these women won Bingo, would the other one be pretty pissed!

Do you ever play Bingo? Would you be this annoyed if someone sat in your seat, or would you let them be?
