Everybody should have a solid, go-to recipe for a favorite loaf of fresh and delicious bread— and what could be better than banana bread?! We couldn’t think of any, so we had to find the best Banana Bread recipe we could and share it with you. The result is moist, delicious, and oh-so-easy.

So what makes this recipe so easy? You don’t need a special mixer, a dough hook, or anything fancy. Instead, just grab two bowls, a spatula or spoon, your ingredients and a loaf pan to bake it all in, and you’ll have a fresh loaf of Banana Bread in a little over an hour.

When picking out bananas for your banana bread, make sure to get really ripe ones (or least let the ones you already have ripen fully). Why? Really ripe bananas are key for the full delicious flavor of the bread and for its utterly tempting speckled appearance.

Ingredients
2 Cups All-purpose flour
3/4 Cups Sugar
3/4 Tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 Tsp. Kosher Salt
3 Bananas, very ripe
1/4 Cup Sour Cream
1 Tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
2 Eggs
6 Tbs. Unsalted Butter, melted
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F / 170°C. Grease a loaf pan and set aside.
In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
In a medium bowl, mash the bananas with a fork. Stir in sour cream, eggs, melted butter and vanilla. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix until just blended. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the bread is golden brown.
For a glossier finish spread a pat of butter over the top of the bread while it is still warm. Allow to cool, at least, 15-20 minutes before serving.
Chef Tips
Using extremely ripe bananas will produce a more flavorful bread and will be easier to mash. To speed up ripening bananas, place in a bag or covered with a bowl for a few days. Storing apples with bananas also speeds up the ripening process as the ethylen

For extra flavor and a truly beautiful, deep golden-brown crust, add a little extra butter to the plate. Just spread a pat over the bread while it’s still warm from the oven, and let it soak in and melt all over the top.
