FYI Parents — ‘Baby Shark’ Is Here With a Coronavirus-Inspired ‘Wash Your Hands’ Remix

Baby Shark. Kids love it. Parents, well, is “hate” too strong of a word? Maybe it’s more accurate to say that we’re sick of the lyrics getting stuck in our head and sick of our kids asking to hear the Pinkfong song on repeat. Honestly, sometimes we catch ourselves singing the song in the shower. This is not okay.

Pinkfong’s hit song has come in many forms since kids first became addicted to the original. There’s a Valentine’s Day version of the song, a Christmas version, a Halloween version, a dance mix version, the list goes on. We thought we had seen them all. I think we had, but wait, there’s more.

There’s a new Baby Shark song

Pinkfong released the latest version of Baby Shark on March 21, 2020, in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. With washing our hands and keeping germs away on our minds pretty much all the time, Baby Shark had to get in on the hand washing action. That’s right; it’s a Baby Shark hand washing song.

If you’ve been telling your kids to sing “Happy Birthday” while washing their hands, maybe they’ll be happy to sing a Baby Shark song instead. At this point of quarantine life with our kids, we’re honestly ready for a change, even if it means that we’ll be singing “doo doo doo doo doo” every time we wash our hands.

The new Baby Shark song doesn’t just talk about hand washing. The shark family also asks the question, “What else can we do?” That answer? Watch the video below to find out.

You could say that releasing this Baby Shark song while many parents are quarantined at home with their kids was pretty poor timing. The last thing we need is another annoying kids song to listen to. (Just me?)

Or…

You could say that it’s perfect timing. Trying to work from home while kids are distance learning at the same time is less than ideal, and we’re all looking for ways to keep our kids happy and entertained. A new Baby Shark song might just give you a few minutes to relax. If that doesn’t work, we suggest checking out these Easter crafts and scavenger hunt ideas

What do you think of this new Baby Shark hand washing song? Do you think it’s a good way to motivate kids to wash their hands? Are you going to start singing this Baby Shark song instead of “Happy Birthday” when you wash your hands?
