Typically, before a bride and groom tie the knot, the bride has a bachelorette party and the groom has a bachelor party. Typically, they invite their friends for a fun night out, a wild night in or even a destination weekend party. Las Vegas comes to mind as a great place to go.

A man named Angelo was engaged to be married, and his friends planned a bachelor party weekend ski trip. They sent emails to all of the invited guests letting them know about the weekend trip, but there was an epic error.

This error, while super easy to do, definitely changed the course of the trip. It was a simple typo, but the typo was in the email address. One letter made all the difference, and the party invitation email that was intended for a man named Will Novak went to the wrong Will Novak.

What would you do if you received an invitation to a party that was clearly intended for someone else? Some people probably wouldn’t even respond to the email. Perhaps it would get filtered out and sent to the spam folder. Some people would probably read the email but dismiss it as a mistake and move on with their lives. Other people would probably respond to the sender letting him know about the mixup.

The Will Novak who received the party invitation had no idea who Angelo was, but his reaction to the invitation wasn’t like any of the above reactions. He made it clear that he had no idea who Angelo was, but he also made it clear that he was 100% up for attending the party anyway.

Novak wrote, “I do not know who Angelo is. I am Will Novak who lives in Arizona. That being said: …count me in!”

His response to the invitation earned him a real invitation to the party. He set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the trip, and the response was huge. He raised thousands of dollars more than his original goal!
