62-Year-Old Woman Who’s Been Through the Ringer Gets a New Lease on Life After Transformative Makeover

Some people enjoy waking up, putting their face on, doing their hair, and walking out the door feeling beautiful. And others can’t be bothered. Not because they don’t want to feel beautiful, but because too much has happened in their life for them to make the effort anymore.

Meet Beverlie, 62, from Missouri, who was the latter.

Beverlie, used to live a pretty great life, but over the last couple of years has endured some pretty terrible things. For one, she lost one of her sons. After that, she fell into a deep depression and couldn’t for the life of her put any effort into her outer appearance.

But recently, she decided she was finally ready to make the first step. “I need to be beautiful again,” she said. “I feel like I’m 5,000 years old.”

So, she paid a visit to Christopher Hopkins, aka the Makeover Guy®, as he’s so known. Since 1990, Hopkins has been giving makeovers to women (and men too) who’ve been through the wringer—or even ones who just want to feel beautiful again. Whether they’ve gone through cancer, underwent a divorce, or simply don’t feel beautiful anymore, Hopkins comes to the rescue.

Beverlie fell into both categories. Not only did she feel unattractive, but the terrible circumstances she’s been through caused her to become depressed.

“Throughout my life, I’ve always been an attractive woman for whatever age I was at,” she said. “I’m not. And I need to find a way to be attractive for 62 years old.”

Well, she certainly came to the right place for that. Hopkins took no time at all before chopping off Beverlie’s long stringy hair giving her a chic bob and dying her gray locks a reddish-brown color.

“I am ready to quit being depressed and find things to be happy about,” Beverlie said. “I know somewhere in here is a happy person.”

With some makeup and some new clothes added, Beverlie’s transformation is truly one for the books. She’s barely even recognizable from her old self!

“I’ve basically been in a coma for 2 ½ years and I didn’t really see any reason to live and I was just old and fat,” she said through tears after seeing her final look. “That’s not what I see today.”

“I feel like I couldn’t feel or look better at my age,” she continued. “I think I look as good as I could look and feel pretty darn good.”
