4 Ways to Dress Up Brownies from the Box
Ready-made brownie mix can actually be really cheap at the store and worth it if you need to bake a quick treat. And you don’t need to settle for regular old brownies either. Northern Cheapskate has some great ideas for frugally upgrading your store-bought brownie mix. Take a look:
Peanut Butter Brownies
- Make brownies according to the directions on the box and pour the batter into the pan.
- Microwave about 1/2 cup of peanut butter until it’s runny.
- Pour the melted peanut butter in strips on top of the batter in the pan.
- Use a regular knife to swirl the peanut butter into the batter.
- Bake as directed and enjoy!
Mocha Brownies
- Prepare brownies as the packaging directs, but replace the water with coffee.
- Pour in 1/2 a sack of chocolate chips (optional).
- Pour the batter into a grease pan and bake as directed.
