4 Summer Reading Programs With Cool Rewards

While learning may be far from your children’s minds on summer vacation, there are some wonderful summer reading programs out there that make reading fun and exciting. Take a look at some of the programs that offer your kids rewards and (hopefully) make them want to continue reading throughout vacation months:

Scholastic’s Summer Reading Challenge

With Scholastic’s Program, kids keep track of their reading minutes by logging in to Scholastic’s site. In exchange for their minutes, they’ll win digital prizes and will also be able to enter sweepstakes for gifts like books and other rewards. The event starts on May 6th, so head over to sign up ASAP.

Barnes & Noble’s Summer Reading

This programs requires kids to read 8 books in total and write briefly about them. They can then exchange their summer reading form at the store for a free book from this list. This event begins on May 21st and ends on September 3rd.

Pottery Barn Kids’ Summer Reading Challenge

Pottery Barn Kids celebrates summer reading by offering free prizes after kids have finished reading all of the books on their recommended list of titles. Find a store near you to get involved.

Your Local Library

Every library is different, but chances are that your local library has some kind of summer reading program. The library near me is offering free ice cream at a local ice cream shop to the first 70 kids who sign up. Also, with every book they complete on the reading list, they get an entry into a sweepstakes where the prize is a Barnes & Noble gift card.
