3 Sites That Turn Your Clothing Into Cash

Cleaning out your closet? You may be able to may some extra cash if you opt for using some of these sites instead of putting all of your recycled clothes into Goodwill. Take a look:

Tradesy:

This site’s website actually is “turn your closet into cash,” so it’s definitely a great site to start with. With Tradest, you take photographs of your clothing and add it to their online catalog. They accept a wide variety of brand names, so they make the process a lot easier. Then if your item sells, Tradesy sends you a free shipping packet so that you can mail the clothing straight to the buyer.

It collects the money from the buyer and gives you the lion’s share, keeping just 9 percent. Yes, you read that right: 9 percent. The upside is that you make a lot more percentage-wise than if you consign but the downside is you do most of the work yourself.

Recycle Your Fashions:

At Recycle Your Fashions, they’ll accept items for consignment but they’ll also buy items directly from you. They tend to be a bit fussy about the brands they accept, but they have a page on their site that lists the kinds of brands they’re interested in.

Christabelle Closet:
This site is currently going through a remodel, but it’s a great online-only consignment option.

The site has bunches of great deals and, as with all the resellers listed today, it guarantees designer authenticity. You won’t be buying (or selling!) any knockoffs or counterfeit Prada on these sites. Christabelle’s Closet is clearly benefiting from Christina’s PR background, having been on all kinds of TV over the years including the daytime goddess Oprah herself.
