When you need to kill some germs, brighten some whites, or just generally feel like you’re cleaning really thoroughly, it can be tempting to just reach for the bleach. Sometimes, though, bleach just isn’t the right answer. Maybe you use a septic system that can’t handle bleach in the laundry. Maybe you worry about using the harsh cleaner in small rooms like your bathroom. Maybe you just hate the smell. Whatever your reason, it’s good to find an alternative, and we’ve found a wonderful one from cleaning expert One Good Thing By Jillee. This DIY cleaner uses only three ingredients for a solution that’s just as effective as bleach without the harsh side effects.

You’ll Need

– 12 cups water
– 1/4 cup lemon juice
– 1 cup hydrogen peroxide

How To

All you need to do is mix the ingredients together. You can put it in a spray bottle to use as a household cleaner, or keep it in any bottle to use in your laundry for washing whites.

Easy! Not only do you get the effectiveness of the hydrogen peroxide, but you get an extra – and fragrant! – boost from the lemon juice.
