How to Wrap a Cat for Christmas

Cats – they’re curious, they’re mischievous, and they are oh, so cute. While we love cats, we know that they don’t always cooperate, and they can have a very strong will. Not every cat is a lap cat, after all. I once had a cat who preferred to sit on a high bookshelf and stare down at the rest of us mere mortals. Was he plotting a kittytastrophe? It’s entirely possible.

While some people who love cats have made the decision to adopt a cat or a few, other people have received cats as gifts. When I was a child, I got a pet cat as a birthday present from my parents. They were all sneaky about it too.

I was watching TV, and my parents carefully placed a box by the chair where I was sitting. I didn’t notice at all. They kept saying to look down, or something like that, and I was annoyed because they were interrupting my show. Then I saw the open box next to me with a little kitten staring up at me. I was no longer annoyed.

In this case, my parents put the cat in a cardboard box that was entirely open on top and wasn’t wrapped at all. There was no bow on the kitten’s head. There was no wrapping paper on the box. The kitten was cute enough to not need any dressing up.

If I were going to give a cat as a gift, I’d probably find a box with a removable lid, wrap it and cut some big air holes in it, or maybe I’d find a huge bag that an entire pet carrier could fit inside. I wouldn’t actually attempt to wrap up a cat with wrapping paper, but apparently it is entirely possible to do so.

I didn’t entirely believe it at first either. Wrapping a cat? I mean, what? No cat would sit still for that, at least no cat I’ve encountered.

We discovered a video where one person was able to actually wrap a cat in wrapping paper. No joke. I’m not the only who thinks this is a little wild. Comments include people saying things like, “How can he sit still through all that! He almost seemed to enjoy it lol!”

The video is so amusing especially because of how easy going this cat is about the entire ordeal, but before you watch the video let us say, do not try this at home, especially if you have a cat that would claw you if you tried to keep it in one place.

Now, prepare to be amazed, and watch the video below.

How would you wrap a cat as a gift? Have you ever had a cat as easy going as the cat in this video?
