What a Genius Trick to Create a Cool 3D Heart!

Whether you’re looking for a craft to do with your kids, students or significant other this Valentine’s Day, these 3D hearts are just the thing! You can make them out of paper, card stock or foam, depending on what you have around the house. Once you’ve decided what to make your heart out of (and what color — you don’t have to stick with red and pink!), all you’ll need is a few simple office supplies.

In a snap, you’ll have fun, 3D hearts to liven up your classroom or home for Valentine’s Day! You’ll find that these crafts are so easy to make, you can quickly make a whole bunch for impromptu cards or decor.

For your heart shape, feel free to use a heart cookie cutter to use as a guideline. If you think you can nail a perfect heart free-drawing, then go for it! Then use that heart as a template to make the rest just as perfect.

Keep in mind when drawing your heart, you want the shape to be wide, not long and skinny. A heart that’s too thin won’t work for this 3D craft, so make sure the outline has some width to it.

If you don’t have a cookie cutter and you’re unsure that you can make your own template, DaveHax has included one in his video below! We encourage you to watch the video for full instructions and for this template, which will be at the end of the tutorial. However, we will share with you the tools you’ll need for this DIY — we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find you already have them at home!
