Wife of Lawyer At the Center of Coronavirus Outbreak in Westchester Breaks Family’s Silence
The coronavirus epidemic is officially underway, with hundreds of cases confirmed as well as several deaths in the U.S. There have been more than 100 cases in New York alone, with more than 80 of them alone in Westchester County. One of them being Lawrence Garbuz, a lawyer from Westchester County.
“When I was first informed of the positive result, I and my entire family immediately provided any and all information to several Departments of Health well into the wee hours of the night in hopes of letting this all be contained as quickly as possible for all of us,” she wrote in the post.
She discussed how she immediately made all employees their law firm aware the moment they found out about the diagnosis, to avoid any possible spread, they ensured that everyone work remotely for the time being with absolutely zero commutes into the office.
On top of trying to stop any possibility of spreading the virus in its tracks, the family is keeping in good spirits and prays that Garbuz will have a full recovery. The two have a 14-year-old daughter and 20-year-old son, who have also been confirmed for the virus, though they are not in critical condition like their father.
“While he still remains critical, I and my family remain very hopeful of his full recovery,” she continued in the post. “He is a tenacious person in all aspects of his life and I know he will come out of this strong.”
Garbuz’ case was linked to others in New Rochelle, a town in Westchester. Additionally, the synagogue the family attends, Young Israel of New Rochelle, has been temporarily shut down after the rabbi as well as several daily visitors all tested virus.
