What NOT to Buy in June

June is a great month to take advantage of some early summer sales. But where some purchases are concerned (especially those summer-themed items), it’s better to stay out of the stores for now. Here are 6 of the worst buys for the month of June.

Grills

You’ll probably be tempted to head out and buy a grill as the weather gets more beautiful and the smell of other people’s grilling efforts wafts through the air. But early summer is actually the priciest time to buy a grill as demand is so high. But if you can hold out a little longer, until after the 4th of July, you should start to see grills discounted at up to 40% off.

Patio Furniture

For the same reason as with the grills, now is a really expensive time to buy patio furniture. If you can wait until after the 4th of July, you should be able to save up to 35% off the cost of outdoor furniture. But if you can wait even longer, until the end of summer (August-ish) you can save up to half off.

Summer Sandals

These are also in demand as people trade out boots and sneakers for flip flops and sandals in the summer. So you’ll have to wait until the season dwindles to start seeing savings on shoes made specifically for summer. If you’re looking to buy sooner, shop those pre-Fourth of July sales to potentially save 40% off.

Apple Products

According to DealNews:

Apple will be holding its annual developers conference in early June, and one thing is certain: you’ll be kicking yourself if you buy a new iMac or MacBook Air if these items get refreshed this month. If that happens, then we’ll see price cuts on previous generation models, both new units (at resellers like MacMall) and refurbished devices (from Apple directly). Already, we’re hearing that the manufacturer will unveil a cheaper iMac, which means pricing in general may be about to shift quite a bit.

Televisions

Summer isn’t usually a great time to take advantage of TV deals. You’re much more likely to score a great deal if you can hold out until Black Friday.

Disney Vacation

If you’re thinking about taking a spur of the moment trip to Disney, you won’t want to do it in June. June is the most expensive time to visit Disney whereas August, which is just a couple of months away, is the cheapest time.
