New video footage that was taken during the shooting shows police pulling children to safety out of classroom windows. It also captured audio of police conversations including new information that a child inside the classroom where the shooting took place called 911.

Why didn’t police enter the school sooner? Why was there a delay in stopping the shooter? Watch the video below for more details on what took place during the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, and what the police have to say about the decisions made during the shooting.

In the video footage seen in the video above, the police seemed to be pulling children out of the school windows at the same time that the shooter was still on a rampage. While moving children to safety is obviously important, so is stopping the source of the danger. As mentioned in the video, the police were instructed to stop an active shooter in the case of a school shooting.

In this case, the police falsely believed that the shooter had locked himself in an empty classroom. That was far from the case. He had actually locked himself in a classroom full of students. The last phone call to 911 occurred just minutes before the shooter was killed by police.

Why do you think the police falsely believed the shooter had locked himself in an empty classroom? Do you think the children’s lives would have been saved if the police had entered the school immediately?
