State Highway Patrol Trooper Shows Up at Woman’s Door. She Was Confused Until She Saw the Package in His Hand.

I think we can all agree that everyone’s jobs are important. Whether you’re a sandwich maker or a doctor, we all have to eat, and we all need to be able to trust someone with our health. No job goes unnoticed.

That said, everyone’s jobs are different, and difficult in different ways. But arguably, one of the most difficult jobs—especially around the holidays—are people who deliver packages.

Think about all the packages that are ordered around the world during this time of year. Amazon alone said more they shipped a billion items through Prime during the 2016 holidays. That’s insane!

People who deliver packages are expected to get each package from where they started to where they’re ending up, all in a reasonable period of time (for Prime members, that’s a measly two days!).

This is obviously no easy feat. While lots of people’s first instinct is to get upset or angry over lost packages, it’s only natural that mishaps are going to happen. Delivery people are humans too after all.

Well one Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper (another not-easy job!) knew exactly what he had to do when he saw a package one day just sitting in the middle of the highway. He grabbed the Amazon box out of incoming traffic and brought it back to his cruiser to inspect it.

The address on the package wasn’t too far from where he was, so he decided he needed to bring the package over himself.

The receiver of the package was a Heather Brown, who lives in Bonner Springs, and captured the interaction between her and the trooper on her doorbell camera when he delivered the package.

She was absolutely shocked (and grateful!) that this man would do such a nice deed for a perfect stranger.

“Woke up to this this morning,” Brown wrote on her Facebook, with the video. “Thanks so much to this AMAZING Highway Patrol Officer that brought us our Amazon package. Apparently he found it in the middle of the highway and was kind enough to hand deliver it to us! We appreciate you!”

The package contained a Christmas gift for Brown’s daughter that was delivered from her father. Imagine she woke up to Christmas morning without it!

“She does not get see him very often so she is always appreciative of mail from him. She would have been pretty disappointed if she had not received her gift from him,” Brown said.

“The patrol was happy to help this family by delivering a package found on a local highway,” the Kansas Highway Patrol wrote on Twitter, praising kind act of the trooper. “#ServiceCourtesyProtection every day, for the big things, and the not-so-everyday occurrences! We are #Proud to have those such as Trooper Leupold working every day to help our citizens!”

How sweet of it was it of this officer to hand deliver a package to this woman? Have you ever lost a package before?
