Snack Healthy with Baked Pear Chips

Healthy snacking just got easier and more satisfying with this pear twist on a salty snack. Everyday Food shows us how to make these Baked Pear Chips from Martha Stewart. Watch and learn!

All You Need:

– Firm, underripe pears

How To:

  1. Preheat your oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Very thinly slice pears lengthwise with a mandoline or chef’s knife and place in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 3 hours. Halfway through the baking time (1 1/2 hours), flip the slices. At the end of the 3 hours, they should be slightly darkened slightly and have curled edges, but still be pliable.
  4. Transfer to a wire rack and let stand until cool and crisp.

You can store these chips at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 1 week, but we bet they won’t last that long! Will you give this recipe a try? What are some of your other favorite healthy takes on chips and other salty snacks?
