Updated-Authorities are investigating the apparent abduction of Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother after blood, signs of forced entry, and evidence of a struggle were discovered inside her Arizona home.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing Sunday from her residence in Catalina Hills, Arizona, just hours after returning home from dinner the night before. According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, investigators now fear she was taken from the home against her will, possibly during the overnight hours.

Law enforcement sources say blood was found inside the house, though it has not yet been confirmed whose blood it was. Officials also noted clear signs of a struggle. Nancy’s car and cellphone were left behind at the scene, raising further concern. Investigators hope data from the phone may help determine the timeline of her disappearance per the New York Post.

Sheriff’s officials confirmed they are treating the case as a possible kidnapping or abduction and have announced a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest. Authorities are urging the public to share any images, video, or tips that could aid the investigation.

The search is especially urgent because Nancy Guthrie requires daily medication, and investigators warn that going without it for more than 24 hours could be life-threatening.

Nancy was reported missing late Sunday morning after a churchgoer alerted family members that she had failed to show up for services. Relatives then contacted law enforcement, prompting an immediate investigation. Officials said family members had dropped her off at her million-dollar home just after 9:30 p.m. the night before she vanished.

Authorities stressed that Nancy was mentally sharp and fully aware at the time she was last seen, ruling out dementia or confusion as a factor.

“She’s of sound mind — as sharp as a tack,” Nanos said, adding that investigators do not believe she simply wandered away. “Her physical limits are based on age alone.”

Detectives are reviewing security footage from the home and have urged neighbors to check Ring and other surveillance cameras for anything unusual. Nanos declined to say whether Nancy or her daughter, the Today host, had received threats but confirmed Savannah has been in regular contact with investigators since her mother disappeared.

The search for Nancy Guthrie remains ongoing.
