Ever hear the phrase, “when you got it, flaunt it”? Actress Salma Hayek swears by it. The 54-year-old actress has been nonstop posting photos of herself in a bikini on her Instagram. Why? She’s proud of her body and what it looks like now—especially since it wasn’t always a source of contentment for her.
“I had to lose a lot of weight and exercise to get into the bikini towards the end of last year,” she said. “I’m glad I took a lot of pictures, I have no shame on it, because it was the first week of the vacation.”
She said that posting the photos has been “liberating” for her, and has continued to take lots of photos of herself ever since she got down to her goal size.
The photos are all from her enjoying a tropical vacation. However, she admits that she doesn’t quite look the same way anymore after she started eating more during quarantine. But the photos have helped her feel proud of who she was, and who she still is.
“I saved my pictures; I’m not in the same condition today, and I’m spreading the love out like every two weeks,” Hayek said. “I’m going to put up another one. I’m almost running out of them, but I don’t know if you have that feeling, like, 2021!”
Some fans have left comments telling her to quit it already with the photos—but she doesn’t care.
“People are sick of it, but I’m going to let them take a break,” she said. “They’re going to think I’m wearing a bikini every day. No, they’re all from the same location.”
The photos are racking up millions of likes, so the haters really can’t say much, can they?
