Babies ‘Romeo’ and ‘Juliet’ Were Born in the Same Hospital Just Days Apart

What’s in a name? Well, these days, an awful lot, especially considering parents are bestowing all kinds of unusual and retro titles on their new bundles of joy. And though we do notice a lot of “Zeldas” and “Gideons” being yelled on the playground, we rarely hear of moms and dads naming their kids after Shakespeare’s famed star-crossed lovers—Romeo and Juliet.

That’s why we were so amazed to hear of an incredible coincidence that recently happened at a South Carolina hospital.

You see, Cassie Clayschulte, a photographer hired to take photos of newly-birthed babies, was shooting pictures of Romeo, a handsome young boy that had just entered the world. It was a routine day for her until she moved on to her next client, little Juliet!

Yep, you heard that right—a “Romeo” and a “Juliet” happened to be born at the same hospital. What makes the event even more of a head scratcher is the fact that their mothers actually gave birth just a room away from each other, with Romeo coming out about 18 hours before his partner in crime, Juliet.

And taking it even one step further, the babies’ mothers were supposed to be induced on the same day, but both actually decided to come early. Now, that’s just creepy!

Clayshulte was so tickled by the happenstance that she even alerted both sets of parents of the crazy fluke. Upon hearing of this name game, an adorable meeting of sorts was organized so that the photographer could get shots of two, nestled side-by-side in their respective hospital bassinets.

It was then that all four parents started scheming about an arranged marriage. The photographer told CBS News that she offered to shoot the babies’ wedding when they were ready to tie the knot. Cute!

Now, the story doesn’t end there. After being released from the hospital, Romeo and Juliet’s folks kept in touch and decided that these babies needed a real photoshoot, so they contacted Clayschulte and set up a more elaborate session. Can you guess what the theme was??

Romeo’s mom told People that the adorable costumed shoot went off without a hitch—i.e. no crying, fits, or poopy diapers. She said, “The photo shoot was so fun for all four of us parents! The theme was Cassie’s idea and it was so fun to watch her creativity flow and watch her work her magic.”

We’ve gotta admit it—we are just suckers for stories like this. To see even more pictures of these two little lovebirds, be sure to click on the video below.
