‘Influencer’ Gets Trashed on Reddit After Leaving a 1-Star Review for a Restaurant That Didn’t Give Her Special Treatment

If someone has a good experience at a restaurant, they may choose to leave a good review on Yelp. On the contrary, bad experiences may trigger a fit of rage.

One social media influencer recently decided to try out a restaurant in her area because she heard the food was good. She figured if it was up to her standards, she could post about it on her Instagram account, giving the restaurant some free advertising. How nice of her! Right?

Well, it turns out that she expected something in return for doing that—even though the restaurant didn’t ask her to do it. She expected the restaurant to give her some kind of discount on her bill—perhaps an entrée or a mere drink or two.

When she told her waitress that she loved the food, and that she’d post about it on her popular Instagram account, she was delighted. But she still didn’t deduct anything from the bill. So the influencer not only didn’t post anything about the restaurant on her Instagram, but she left the restaurant a one-star review on Yelp. Below is what it said:

“I’m giving a 1 star because of the cheap management and customer service. I heard the food was very good so I went to try. Me and the BF got the calamari, spaghetti alle vongole, and gnocchi. All were very delicious.

I was actually so impressed that when the manager came to ask us how everything tasted I told her it was some of the best Italian food I’ve had and I told her I’m going to post about it on Instagram where I have over 11 thousand followers and a lot of them are in the area. She seemed very happy about it.

I was wrong. I thought she would be grateful for the fee advertising but when the check came there was literally no discount at all. I thought at least one of the entrees would be taken off but they didn’t even take off the calamari or even the drinks!

I won’t go back here because of this. Which is a shame because the food was very good. The manager needs to understand how to treat customers.”

That’s right—even though the woman acknowledged that the food and service were great (the food was some of the “best Italian food she’s ever had,” in her words), she still lowered the restaurant’s Yelp reviews by giving the lowest score.

After the Yelp review was posted to Reddit, the Internet had a ball.

“Man, some people are just so desperate to feel powerful. Pathetic,” someone wrote about the woman.

“Entitled b**ch needs a reality check,” another person wrote. “This angers and sickens me to no avail. The good news is. The only person who looked bad in that review was the poster. The restaurant still looks great.”

“We’ve now reached a new level of entitlement: Being mad that you didn’t get something that you didn’t ask for,” another noted.
