There’s a Resort in Thailand Where You Can Sleep With Elephants Under the Stars in a ‘Jungle Bubble’

If you’ve ever considering vacationing in the jungle, you might want to consider staying at the Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort. This epic resort is set in northern Thailand, and there are 22 elephants living on the property.

The resort offers many incredible features, like the ability to explore three countries (Thailand, Myanmar and Laos) all via private transportation with a tour guide leading the way. Then there’s the elephant camp where, according to the resort’s website, you can “observe, play and connect with elephants in their natural environment.” That sounds amazing.

The resort has a spa, meeting space and an on-site restaurant. Of course, there are also guest rooms which offer incredible views of the jungle and the elephants.

The guest rooms and suites look pretty luxurious and spacious. They offer views of three countries, and they include features like private balconies and complimentary wifi. However, even though these accommodations are amazing, there’s another experience that we would just have to try.

The newest feature of this already amazing resort is an experience like no other. They have created “Jungle Bubbles” where you can watch elephants graze just steps from your accommodations. These bubbles are see-through so that you can really feel like you’re right there with the elephants. Yet, since they’re enclosed, you still benefit from air-conditioning and bug-free accommodations.

Each bubble features a king-size bed and a sitting area. There is also an en-suite bathroom which is not see-through, so no worries there. There are also amenities like complimentary slippers and bathrobes.

You might not want to leave your bubble the entire time you’re there, and you don’t have to. The staff can bring you dinner directly from the on-site restaurant, there’s a fully-stocked mini-bar, and you can make tea and coffee inside the bubble.

The bubbles do not offer any privacy (besides the bathroom), so keep that in mind. We think it’s worth it for a once-in-a-lifetime type experience. We picture ourselves cuddled in the bed, camera at the ready, dinner nearby, stars twinkling overhead. Yes, it truly sounds amazing.

Staying in the Jungle Bubble does not replace accommodations in one of the resorts rooms or suites. It is an add-on experience that you can enjoy from dusk to dawn. We think we’d stay up all night, savoring the adventure.

If watching elephants cruise by your bubble isn’t enough, the resort offers plenty of other ways to interact with their gentle giants. The resort can arrange to have elephants meet you when you arrive at the resort. You can also spend the day interacting with elephants, from yoga in the morning, to a picnic next to the elephants at lunch time, a walk at dusk and even dinner at the elephant camp.
