If you were on social media yesterday, you probably noticed quite a few posts about fathers. It was Father’s Day, after all, and many people use the day to acknowledge the special fathers and father figures in their lives.

We saw countless posts where families gathered for cookouts and quality time. Many people listed the wonderful things about their dads, husbands and grandfathers. They also shared family photos. The royal family was no exception.

Yesterday, Father’s Day, Kate Middleton shared a never-before-seen picture of Prince William with the couple’s three children, 8-year-old Prince George, 7-year-old Princess Charlotte and 4-year-old Prince Louis. In the picture, all the kids are laughing. The photo looks at the same time staged and candid, like they were posing for a photo and got caught laughing at a joke.

The Cambridges kept the photo caption simple writing, “Wishing a Happy Father’s Day to fathers and grandfathers across the world today!”

If the outfits Prince William and the children are wearing look familiar, that’s because they were wearing the exact same outfits in the photo the Cambridges used for their Christmas card in 2021. Assuming the pictures were taken on the same day, the pictures were taken when the family traveled to Jordan.

The Cambridges were most recently in the spotlight during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Prince Louis stole the show at every event he attended. The 4-year-old showed classic 4-year-old antics. He had trouble sitting still and paying attention, but his parents did a good job staying calm and composed despite the youngest member of their family’s behavior. They even joked about it after the fact when they posted a few pictures on Twitter. William and Kate captioned the post, “We all had an incredible time, especially Louis…”

What do you think Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte and Prince George were laughing about in the recent picture shared in honor of Father’s Day? Why do you think the family didn’t choose to share a more recent picture? What does your family usually do to celebrate Father’s Day? Did you share any family photos on social media in honor of Father’s Day?
