Have you been following the USC college admissions scandal? We have. Even though the evidence keeps getting stacked against Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli, the couple continues to plead not guilty.
Now, there’s new evidence, and it doesn’t look good for the Fuller House star and her fashion designer husband. Prosecutors have disclosed 480+ more documents that point to the couple knowing that they were taking part in a scam.
Before this all started, Lori had said that she wanted her daughters to have a somewhat normal experience by finishing high school and college. She wanted them to each have a degree in case they ever needed it.
Sounds reasonable. Sounds like a good thing for a parent to do, but the way these parents went about getting their children into college has really backfired.
According to Rachel Stockman from the Law & Crime Network, “I think the likelihood that Lori spends prison time is very, very high because of the seriousness of the crime and the amount of money that we’re dealing with here.”
Emails show that an official from USC contacted Mossimo to see if his daughter was still interested in attending school there. He offered a private tour and to “flag her application.” This was all legal. Perhaps their daughters could have gotten into USC without being part of a scam.
The emails seems to indicate that Lori and Mossimo knew they were part of a scam. For example, the scam’s ringleader, William Rick Singer, asked Mossimo to send him pictures of his daughter on a rowing machine dressed in athletic clothes. It seems the intention was to make it look like she was “a real athlete.”
