Mother-in-laws didn’t get the nickname “monster-in-laws” for nothing. While some wives adore their mother-in-laws, it’s common to have some bothered feelings toward yours. Many times, mother-in-laws are very protective over their sons, so they tend to take it out on their wife—the person who, in their minds, stole her son right from under her.

We’ve heard stories about some mean mother-in-laws, but this next one takes the cake. One poor woman recently had an interaction with her future mother-in-law that went viral for being one of the worst, most cruel encounters ever.

“I am an absolute lost of words right now,” the woman prefaced her post, which went on to explain how her mother-in-law told her that she was going to wear her own wedding dress to her son’s wedding. Not only that, but she was incredibly rude to her future daughter-in-law.

It all began when the woman texted her future mother-in-law, Sue, and asked her what the dress she got for her wedding looks like, as she heard she had already purchased it (even if the wedding was over a year away).

When the mother-in-law sent the photo, she couldn’t believe her eyes. It was a white, lacey wedding dress.

The daughter-in-law was so shocked. She remained cool, calm and collected in her next text though, just trying to keep the peace: “I’m sorry- I don’t mean to be rude or anything but you’re planning on wearing your wedding dress to our wedding? We could help you find a similar one that fits our planned colors instead!”

However, the mother-in-law took this very, very badly. She went on to call her a “sk*nk,” explaining that since she’s paying for over half of it, she’ll wear “whatever f*cking dress I please” and that if she wants to say anything about that, “good luck to your family because Lord knows they are too poor to afford it.” She also told her not to even think about “trying to ruin this moment” for her.

Thankfully, the son was completely on his future wife’s side. He couldn’t believe his mother could say something that like to her, let alone be so silly as to want to wear her wedding dress to their wedding.

After the conversation was posted, most people couldn’t believe how this went down.

“I’m sorry but I would run as far and as fast as I could away from that wedding,” someone said. “Imagine what she’ll be like after the wedding – no way I would tolerate that.”

“Use it to your advantage,” another person suggested. “Everyone would know what an attention seeking old woman she is. It would make her look pathetic and IMO abut unstable! Or go the whole hog and ask everyone to turn up in a wedding dress – that will scupper her plans of holding the limelight!”

“Sounds like my mother—100% narcissist!” another person said.
