Michael Bublé Hands The Microphone To a Fan During Concert. The Whole Crowd is in Awe When She Starts to Sing.

Imagine snagging tickets to your favorite concert. You look forward to going, perhaps with your significant other or a group of friends. You save the event on your calendar app and count down the days, especially if it’s one of your favorite singers or bands.

Now, imagine getting to that concert and standing right next to the stage. Things are already pretty good. You have an amazing view, and you can hear everything fantastically well. You’re already having a blast.

Then, the performer on stage, the singer that you came to listen to, comes over to you and hands you his microphone, giving you the opportunity to sing.

There are probably a couple different reactions you could have if this happened to you. First, it might be horror. Perhaps you’re the type of person who only sings in the shower and maybe not even then. You also might be excited by the opportunity, but a little hesitant. Perhaps you’ll sing and it’ll be like one of those awful American Idol auditions.

Your reaction might be a little different if you’re a music major in college. Maybe, just maybe, this could be the opportunity of a lifetime. Maybe this is a dream come true.

Erin Bellucci is a music major at the University of Delaware. A few days before the Oscars, she was attending a Michael Bublé concert in Madison Square Garden. Bublé was sitting on the edge of the stage talking to some of his fans during the concert, and Bellucci was one of them.

Bellucci’s sister was recording the encounter on her phone. Bublé asked Bellucci what her favorite song was, and after stammering for a moment, she said, “At Last.” Her sister can be heard off-camera saying, “Ask her to sing it now.”

Lo and behold, he didn’t just ask her to sing it, he introduced her saying, “Erin Bellucci with ‘At Last’” and then handed her the microphone.

We can only imagine how shocked Bellucci must have felt in that moment. She probably had butterflies in her stomach, but once the piano started playing, she opened her mouth and impressed the entire audience.

She later said, “I was stammering, but then I heard the music. I’ve sung that song so many times, they had the piano ready to go, and I knew I had about 30 seconds to sell myself.”

Watch Erin Bellucci sing “At Last” during a Michael Bublé concert in the video below.

How would you react if Michael Bublé handed you a microphone and asked you to sing your favorite song? What song would you sing?
