Meghan Markle and Price Harry Are Reportedly Not Invited to Dinner Parties Because of Their “American Ways”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have never been a couple to do things traditionally. Though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are part of the royal family—which comes with a very strict set of royal rules and regulations—they’ve always swayed to the beat of their own drum.
That’s probably because Markle is from America (read: not a royal). That’s right, their nontraditional ways go back to even Prince Harry choosing Meghan as his fiancé and wife. Typically, royals marry royals. In fact, before their wedding in May 2018, there hadn’t been a royal wedding involving an American commoner before this one in over 80 years! Talk about tradition breakers.
It only went on from there: When the two were planning their wedding together, news outlets would pour over the countless ways the couple was straying from royal traditions—whether it was Meghan choosing her mother to walk her down the aisle over her father, not putting certain details on their wedding invites, or Markle choosing to make a speech at her own wedding (which broke the rule that only men could speak at wedding receptions).
It seems that these two have made headlines for every silly decision they’ve made, just because it wasn’t necessary seen as “royal.” Aren’t their friends and family used to their nontraditional ways yet?
Apparently not!
The Daily Mail has recently speculated the most recent way the two are breaking royal protocol. And this time, it’s backfiring on them.
The news outlet reported that whenever Harry and Meghan attend a dinner together, they’re always showing a lot of PDA—much more than royal tradition allows for.
On top of that, the two always make it a point to sit next to each other at events like this, even if it’s allegedly “frowned upon” for royal couples to do so.
According to the The Daily Mail, there are some very specific rules that royal society must follow in terms of seating plans at dinner parties, including couples always being seated apart, as to not show public displays of affection towards each other, and always sit according to where they’re placed to avoid any disruptions.
Obviously, Meghan and Harry have completely broken these.
Americans, of course, find this kind of behavior pretty normal. Some may even be appalled at people who don’t show affection like this or who are perfectly okay not sitting with their spouse during dinner. But the royal culture? They’re pretty over it.
In fact, they’re so over Harry and Meghan being so lovey-dovey with each other that rumor spread the two have since been excluded from fancy dinner parties!
On top of that, it’s being reported that Prince Harry’s friends “roll their eyes” at her “American ways.”
It doesn’t sound like they’re going to be invited back to any dinner parties lately, but we’re certainly willing to have them over our place—we’d totally swoon over Harry slinging his arm around his wife at our dinner table!

What do you think—do you think Harry and Meghan need a new social circle for being faulted for being loving toward each other? How would you deal if you couldn’t sit with your spouse or show any affection?
