Has Meghan Markle Traded in Her American Accent for a British One?
It’s just been about two months since American sweetheart, Meghan Markle, became England’s newest member of the most influential royal family in the world. That’s right, the former Suits actress is no longer just the beautiful face that shows up on your television set once a week, she’s now got the much more impressive title of Duchess of Sussex.
If you’ve been following Duchess Meghan’s royal evolution closely—and, honestly, who hasn’t?—then you know that she has found a way to integrate into her new family seamlessly. As a matter of fact, these days, she looks like she was born into royalty, not into a middle-class family in Los Angeles!

The Duchess’ seemingly effortless transition into the high-profile bloodline sure has been a graceful one, but it’s also one that, from what we have observed, has taken a lot of careful planning and awareness.
For example, have you noticed that Duchess Meghan always looks the part of a seasoned royal? Although her past career suggests that she’s certainly adept at taking on new roles, her iconic style is dictated by the Royal Family much more than you might think.
You see, recently, we gave you the low-down on the newlyweds natural, dewy makeup look that she wore so beautifully on her wedding day. While her makeup artist confirmed that it was Meghan’s idea to opt for a soft appearance, we also know that dramatic makeup looks aren’t necessarily on the table for female royals.
Just think about it: when was the last time you saw Duchess Kate or the Queen step out in a smoky cat-eye and bright red lipstick? It’s just not something that’s in-line with the royal brand, which means that, even if the newest duchess wanted to experiment, she likely wouldn’t be allowed to.
Believe it or not, the same rule also applies to her manicures (the Queen dictates that all female members of the family must wear a nude polish) and even social media accounts, which Duchess Meghan is completely banned from using.
The latter displays a very telling commitment to her new family, especially considering that just a few years back, the former actress was a blogger and social media darling.

And, speaking of change; we don’t know about you, but we’ve also detected some pretty big changes in regards to Meghan’s voice. And, apparently, we’re not the only ones who have noticed a distinct shift.
Just last week, cameras caught the Duchess speaking to a well-wisher in, what very much sounds like, a BRITISH ACCENT.
Nope, we’re not kidding! Could it be that the all-powerful Queen Elizabeth II is making her new granddaughter-in-law develop the intonation? Perhaps it’s Meghan’s way of conforming to British society? Maybe she doesn’t even realize that she has traded in her American accent for a British one?
