Jimmy Buffett Has Opened a 300-Acre Margaritaville Resort Complete with Water Park

When we think of Orlando, Florida, we think of theme parks. While Walt Disney World and Universal are both fun places to visit with lots of attractions, restaurants, entertainment and hotels, we’d argue that they’re geared towards kids or kids at heart.

What if you want to visit Orlando and see the sights without staying in a hotel that features characters from children’s movies? Now there’s a resort for that, and it’s located right across from Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

After the kids get their picture taken with their favorite princess and the world’s most famous mouse, you’ll be “wastin’ away again in Margaritaville.”

That’s right. Jimmy Buffett opened a Margaritaville resort in Orlando, Florida in January 2019.

The resort is huge at 300 acres, and it includes 4 different areas.

The water park, Island H2O Live!, was described in the resort’s press release as “the most immersive water park” in central Florida. It’s filled with everything from rides (9 of them), to a lazy river, a kids’ area, and even adults-only areas for all that margarita sipping you’ll be doing. There will also be “tropically inspired havens” scattered throughout for times when you truly want to relax in a hammock or on a sandy beach.

If your idea of a vacation includes eating at a bunch of restaurants and shopping until you drop, you don’t even have to leave the resort to do that. There’s an open air shopping area that includes 23 restaurants.

This is a resort, after all, so you can obviously stay here. The Margaritaville Hotel has 184 guest rooms that start at $179 per night. Reservations are now being accepted.

If you want more room to stretch out, there are also Margaritaville Cottages. These cottages offer all the comforts of home, and if you never want to leave Margaritaville, you don’t have to. You can actually buy a cottage and live there forever.

Make no mistake; this is not a retirement home. Jimmy Buffett already has one of those. This is a family-friendly resort that’s a true paradise.

Excuse me while I make my reservation.

Would you want to stay at this new resort?
