Makeup Artist Shares How She Made Her Mom Look 10 Years Younger

For older women who prefer to stick to a beauty regimen that includes makeup, there are plenty of tips from beauty gurus that can help. One of the goals is to keep the skin looking youthful and natural.

We are sure you’ve seen tutorials and makeovers that gave mature women the radiant youthfulness they wanted. Now, you get to see a before-and-after of one mom whose daughter is a makeup artist.

A Reddit user who goes by the tag “makeupformermaids” posted a photo on the site showing the results of a makeover she did on her mother. The compliments came pouring in and so did the questions about how she achieved such a beautiful glow. Most of all, Mom loved it!

The original poster shared that her mom’s usual routine consists of green mascara and eyeliner, a tinted SPF, and a pinch of concealer. The lashes in the “after” photo were a new addition. But check out how flattering her look is; it’s stunning!

After being inundated with requests for consultations and this makeover’s how-to, makeupformermaids posted this:

It is recommended that older women remember to use makeup that hydrates, protects from the elements, and accentuates their natural features. Experts say to use a BB (beauty balm) cream, as it is lightweight and will even out the complexion.

For correcting heavier imperfections, a CC (color correcting) cream can also be included in kit. CC cream is used to disguise dark circles, dark spots, acne scars, and sun spots. It even helps reduce the appearance of fine lines. Both types of creams can be found for all skin shades.

Before applying any makeup, ladies should exfoliate to remove any dead skin and then follow that up with a moisturizing product. Choose color palettes that are soft and subtle so they complement your skin tone and features. And like makeupformermaids, define what makes you pop, like your eyes, lips, and cheekbones.

What do you think of this makeover? Are you an older woman who wants to switch up her makeup routine too?
