How to Use Makeup to Make Your Lips Look Bigger

Longing for larger lips? A full pucker is definitely in right now, that’s for sure. But to get that full pout, you don’t need anything near plastic surgery. All you need is a little makeup know-how. With these simple makeup tricks, you can get your lips looking fuller in minutes! And these tips don’t require any crazy skill with makeup or any fancy products, either. Just watch the video below to see how simple it is for yourself.

All you need for this tutorial? A few simple beauty essentials that you probably have in your makeup bag right now! If not, you can buy any of the following for relatively cheap at most drugstores.

YOU’LL NEED
– Chapstick
– Lip liner
– Lipstick
– A lighter lipstick in the same color family as the first

Follow these five steps for Insta-worthy lips instantly:

STEP 1: HYDRATE THE LIPS

It is so important to keep your lips hydrated, especially when using a matte lipstick like we will in this tutorial. Matte lipsticks tend to be much drier. The last thing you want is cracked lips ruining your look.

STEP 2: LINE YOUR LIPS WITH A NUDE

Chose a lip liner close to your skin tone, then line your lips with said liner.

STEP 3: LINE YOU LIPS AGAIN

This time, line with a color closer to what you’re using for lipstick. Don’t OVER line, just highlight your Cupid’s bow (the dip on your top lip) a little more than usual, but line your lips otherwise as normal.

STEP 4: FILL IN WITH LINER

I love this trick: for staying power and fuller lips, fill in your lips with the second liner you used. Your lipstick will stay on SO much better.

STEP 5: USE YOUR LIPSTICK AND HIGHLIGHT

Finally, put on your lipstick. Easy enough! Then, for the final touch, use a lipstick in the same color family that’s a little lighter than the first. Use that to highlight your bottom lip right in the middle to make it look naturally fuller.

Now if you’re trying this trick for the first time, our advice is to go for a more toned-down shade. Try for a nude or a dusty pink rather than something bright.
