Lori Loughlin Released from Prison and Reunited With Daughters Just After Christmas

Christmas 2020 was very different for a lot of people. Due to COVID-19, many of us stuck to CDC recommendations like avoiding travel and celebrating with just the people in our household. That means that many people had celebrations via Zoom instead of a “Christmas Vacation”-style holiday season.

Lori Loughlin didn’t even get to spend Christmas with her daughters. She was in prison for her part in the college admissions scandal during most of the holiday season. Back in May, Loughlin pled guilty to paying to get her daughters Olivia Jade Giannulli and Isabella Rose Giannulli into the University of Southern California. In August, her plea deal was approved by a judge, and on October 30, 2020, the Fuller House star turned herself in to start her prison sentence.

After spending Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas behind bars, on December 28, 2020, People reported that Loughlin was finally released and reunited with her daughters. Watch the video below for more details.

As the video mentioned, Loughlin has yet to be reunited with her husband, fashion designer Massimo Giannulli, who is still in jail. Like Loughlin, he also pled guilty for his part in the college admissions scandal and turned himself in to start his prison sentence. His prison sentence started on November 19, 2020, and he still has several more months to go before being released.

Loughlin has already paid the $150,000 fine that was part of her plea deal. In theory, she should be able to move on with her life in 2021, but it will be interesting to see how easy or difficult it is for her life to get back to normal. Do you think she will be able to act again, or do you think this scandal tarnished her image and her career? For example, do you think Hallmark Channel will be willing to cast Loughlin in any upcoming movies?
