Lisa Marie Presley Just Released a New Video to Honor Her Late Father

Though he hasn’t been on earth physically for over 30 years, Elvis Presley’s music lives on every single day. It’s rare to find someone who hasn’t heard of the King of Rock and Roll, let alone know a good majority of his songs.

Elvis passed away suddenly in 1977 at his Graceland, Memphis, Tennessee estate at the age of 42. It’s said that he endured several years of prescription drug abuse that may have severely compromised his health. It was a tragic day for his family as well as his fans.

Recently, his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, decided to pay tribute to him in the most touching way.

She decided to release a new moving video featuring a song that was part of a compilation album with several of his top hits, with instrumentation from Darlene Love and Cissy Houston, Terry Blackwood, among others. The song has been revamped into a duet between Lisa and Elvis, and it’s giving us all the feels.

The song debuted in 1967 and Lisa Marie is still so proud of it. It’s called “Where No One Stands Alone,” the title track from Elvis’ upcoming posthumous compilation of gospel songs.

“It was a very powerful and moving experience to sing with my father,” Lisa Marie Presley said. “The lyrics speak to me and touch my soul. I’m certain that the lyrics spoke to my father in much the same way.”

RCA/Legacy Recordings paired the song with a lyric video featuring a slew of Elvis’ family photos and in-studio footage of Lisa Marie Presley singing inside a vocal booth. The video was recently released and it’s as emotional and wonderful as you’d think it would be.

Besides being an emotional, memorable moment for Lisa Marie Preseley, even producers felt touched.

“Recording with all that history, in rooms that Elvis recorded his most memorable tracks, with the singers that backed Elvis in his most powerful performances, and with the raw emotion of his daughter Lisa Marie singing ‘with’ her father in the same room her father sang in a memory that we will cherish for the rest of our lives, and beyond,” said Joel Weinshanker, one of the project’s producers.

Though he was known for rock and roll, Elvis’ daughter says his love of gospel music always shined through the most.

“This was his favorite genre — no question about it,” Presley said. “He seemed to be at his most passionate, and at peace while singing gospel. He would truly come alive — whether he was singing just for himself and me at home, or on stage in front of thousands of fans.”

We’re huge Elvis fans over here, so this video really tugged at our heart strings—and we think you’re going to like it just as much!
