Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend have announced the birth of their second child, a boy, on social media. On May 16, Teigen posted a message welcoming their new arrival saying, “Somebody’s herrrrrrre!”

Teigen – who is known for sharing a lot through her social media accounts – is already a proud mom of the couple’s two-year-old daughter, Luna. Her excitement was palpable when a Twitter follower asked if their baby boy looks like big sis:

“Same nose! He is a few weeks early so he’s litttttttle and makes the teeniest noises. We are in love.”

Back in November of last year, the pair revealed they were expecting after going through IVF treatments for a second time. Teigen has been extremely candid about her fertility struggles and postpartum depression, and often publicly advocates for both causes.

When sharing details of this pregnancy, she spoke about how this was the last of three viable embryos, and that it was male. The first time around, Teigen and Legend chose to have a female implanted, which drew a lot of criticism from the public and some in the medical community too.

Citing morals and ethics, people worried about a trend starting with couples using IVF to choose “designer babies” based on superficial qualities. But Teigen was quick to shut down any negative chatter when she pointed out that she and her doctors made the choice based on which would result in the healthiest pregnancy.

As far as having a girl first, both Legend and Teigen were ecstatic about starting their parenting journey with a daughter. Since it was possible with IVF to have that choice, they went with it.

Now over the moon about adding a boy to their brood, the couple has been posting updates to Instagram and Twitter. Earlier today, it was shared that they’ve named their little bundle of joy Miles Theodore Stephens. (Legend’s real surname is Stephens.)

Teigen posted a pic of herself cradling the newborn, introducing him by name, and thanking well-wishing fans. According to People, the two wanted to go with a name that had a musical twist, similar to how Luna’s middle name is Simone for musician Nina Simone. Miles’ name is inspired by the late Miles Davis.

Just a short while ago, Teigen was lamenting having to wait so long to meet her new son. Like so many pregnant women, it felt like time was dragging on during the last trimester. Many of us can definitely sympathize!

But the baby is healthy and doing well, and the Legends can now look forward to caring for two pumpkins under the age of three. Word is that Luna is elated about having a baby in the house but will have to get used to sharing her parents.
