While there are many times that we get along with our family members really well, everyone fights occasionally. Often, family fights are over dumb things, like putting socks in the hamper or clearing the table. Sometimes they are over really dumb things. When Jimmy Fallon asked American to share their dumbest family fights, he must have known there were going to be a lot of hilarious responses.
Here are just a few Jimmy’s favorite #DumbestFamilyFights tweets.
But wait, there’s more. Obviously, Jimmy could only share a few of the #DumbestFamilyFights tweets on the live broadcast of The Tonight Show, but there were many, many more great responses. Scroll down to see some of our personal favorites.

Best Game Show
#DumbestFamilyFightWhen I was 4, my grandmother and great-grandmother had a curse word filled debate on which is a better game show, Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy during Christmas dinner and we all had to leave and I didn’t get pie 😞

When my sister were tweens we got in a big fight over who was going to marry Donny Osmond, Mom yelled shut up! Donny isn’t going to marry either of you, his family is going to make him marry a Mormon girl. Us: can we change religion? #DumbestFamilyFight pic.twitter.com/QsHzEZwT3B

It Was a Dream
In our 30s, my twin sister described to me an incident in high school that she’d never forgiven me for-it occurred on the balcony of our cafeteria. Our cafeteria didn’t have a balcony. It was a dream- and she’d been upset for 15yrs #DumbestFamilyFight

Harrison Ford
As a child I got into an argument with my dad because I did not understand that Harrison Ford could be both Han Solo AND Indiana Jones. I actually told him he was too old to understand how movies worked. #DumbestFamilyFight

The Ceiling Fan
We got in a fight at Xmas over whether the ceiling fan was rotating clockwise or counter clockwise. The only resolution that could calm everyone down was “it depends on if your point of view is from above or below it”. Still a touchy subject 5 years later. #DumbestFamilyFight
