‘Jeopardy!’ Champ James Holzhauer Has Just Passed the $1 Million Dollar Mark in Winnings

If you’ve been tuning your TV to Jeopardy! lately, then you know that James Holzhauer is setting fire to the board. His incredible streak has earned him over $1,000,000 in winnings so far.

As the current champ, he is of course drawing comparisons to Ken Jennings, the only other contestant in the game’s history to breach the million-dollar mark. And, that’s after playing only 14 games. It’s been a long time since viewers have seen a player like this, so naturally people are curious about his playing style.

It’s been labeled as confident and aggressive. Holzhauer is a Las Vegas professional bettor, which undoubtedly has given him nerves of steel when it comes to taking risks and betting large amounts of money. He has no qualms about those “Daily Doubles.”

Compared to Ken Jennings, – who is paying attention and is a fan – he’s earning money at twice the rate. Jennings became an enigma back in 2007 when ultimately, he set a regular season record with a total of $2,520,700. In an interview with Wired, Jennings said:

“I’m extremely interested in James’ streak, not just as a fan but because those are my records. But honestly it’s probably for the opposite reason that you think. I’ve always been on the record as believing that my streak was replicable. It’s just mystified me that nobody has made much of a run at it in 15 years.

So I’m very excited. As a fan of the show, I’m actually rooting for James or anybody who can take a swing at that record.”

Holzhauer could be closing in but fans will have to keep watching to see if and when his streak will end. When it’s all said and done, he will still make history.

Are you keeping up with this contestant’s streak? Do you think he will pass Ken Jennings?
