I think it’s safe to say that every kid went through their requisite “magician phase”. Heck, when I was a youngster, I holed myself up in my room for a few days with a magic book, too. But, after many frustrating false starts, I hung up my cloak and called it a day.

Nonetheless, there certainly are tykes out there who are simply blessed with those mysterious sleight of hand skills. As a matter of fact, we’ve managed to find a girl who may just be the next Houdini!

Meet 8-year-old Issy Simpson, a British grade-schooler who is absolutely obsessed with all things magic. The pint-sized illusionist credits both her fictional hero, Hermione Granger, and her expert magician grandfather as her inspirations behind getting involved in this unexpected practice.

Now, what sets little Issy apart from other kids with a magic kit is the fact that she is GOOD—and we mean really good! In fact, this precocious entertainer is already so adept at performing these tricks, that she even managed to score an audition on one of the most-watched shows in the whole of the UK—Britain’s Got Talent!

If you’re a fan of America’s Got Talent, then you probably already know that the judges on these talent competition shows are not necessarily known for their leniency. It doesn’t matter if the contestant is 8 or 80, they still find a way to tear most of the acts apart.

Heck, with the infamous Simon Cowell on this particular panel, you know that no bad acts will ever be let through!

Nevertheless, when calm, cool, and collected Issy walks on stage, she seems completely unfazed by all of the lights, hundreds of audience members, and intimidating judges watching her every move. In fact, when Simon throws a bit of attitude the little girl’s way, she manages to take it in stride. She’s a real magician, and she knows it!

Issy starts off her routine by presenting three of the judges each with a book, and then asks them to flip through every single page to ensure that there is nothing missing. As the panelists dutifully work away on their tasks, she asks the persnickety Simon to pick up the cardboard box that is sitting at the end of the table and place it on the floor. Easy enough, right?

Look, Simon is no Schwarzenegger, that’s for sure, but he doesn’t appear to be a total weakling either. However, even after enlisting some help from another judge, he simply can’t pick up that small brown box. The thing is just too heavy!
