Amid all of the coronavirus updates on your feed, let us give you an update on two people we were regularly talking about before a pandemic struck: Price Harry and Meghan Markle.

If you can remember a time before coronavirus, not too long ago, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided that it was time for them to take a break from the royal family. They had shared that they would be splitting their time between the United Kingdom and North America. The goal was to become a financially independent family.

“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter,” they had shared in a statement not too long ago.

While they do continue to honor the Queen, the Commonwealth, and their patronages, the idea is that they’d simply be stepping down and doing it from afar.

The decision was met with both support and negativity. Luckily, Queen Elizabeth II had a welcoming response to the news and shared she was fully in support of the royal couple in their endeavors.

However, one of the biggest negative responses to the decision was when Madame Tussauds, a wax museum in London, decided to removed Meghan and Harry’s wax figures. Madame Tussauds felt that removing Meghan and Harry best explained their separation from the family in response to their “progressive new role within the royal institution.”

Well, despite some of the negativity, it turns out Meghan and Harry are doing quite well—thriving, even.

Even in the middle of a global pandemic, “they are positive about the future,” a royal source tells PEOPLE. “It is exciting for them to mark the end of the transition and the official start of their new chapter.”

Part of that new chapter is saying goodbye to their royal Instagram. They made their final post on March 30, stating, “As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute.”

“While you may not see us here, the work continues,” the wrote. “Thank you to this community—for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great!”
