The latest royal news is that, of course, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially engaged! And since their nuptials are set to happen incredibly soon, the entire wedding planning process has been blissfully sped up. Well, it’s blissful for all of us who are watching excitedly from afar, at least.

After announcing their engagement in November, the internet was expecting to see little glimpses of the wedding plans pretty soon – and everyone just got what they were hoping for.

Last Thursday, Kensington Palace released Harry and Meghan’s first set of engagement photos! Both color and black and white photos, taken by Alex Lubomirskiwere made public a day after the pair joined the Queen and the rest of the royal family for Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace. They were taken at Frogmore House in Windsor earlier in the week.

In the first photo, Prince Harry is looking strapping in a blue sporting suit and Meghan stuns in a sheer black gown. The pair is holding hands so that Meghan’s sparkling engagement ring can be shown off in the photo.

The second image in black and white shows the pair cuddled up close together and laughing. Harry appears to be wrapping his jacket around his bride-to-be.

And in a candid third photo, the happy couple walks arm-in-arm around Windsor.

With the three photos, Lubomirski posted a sweet statement:

“It was an incredible honor to be asked to document this wonderful event, but also a great privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for one another,” Lubomirski said, according to a statement from the palace. “I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took of them, such was their happiness together.”

Couldn’t agree more! These photos are glowing with love that simply cannot be manufactured – it’s enough to make anyone break out into a smile. And, of course, the gracious couple had kind words to share with the public, too.

“As a way to say thank you, they have decided to share this candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings directly with all of you,” Kensington Palace said in a statement. “The couple are so grateful for the warm and generous messages they have received during such a happy time in their lives.”

We’re not going to lie, getting to gush over these gorgeous photos was a pretty amazing thank you.
