When you make eggs, what do you do with the eggshells afterwards? If your eggshells are going down the garbage disposal or in the trash, then you’re wasting an opportunity to improve your health. Did you know that eggshells are 90% pure calcium? And that Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the human body. 1. If eggshells haven’t been already boiled, boil for 10 minutes to kill any harmful bacteria.
2. Let your eggshells cool and then grind up in a coffee/spice grinder until it’s in a fine powder.
3. Keep your calcium powder in an airtight jar.
The most common way to take eggshell powder is to add a half teaspoon to a glass of water and gulp it down. You can also experiment by adding it into other foods such as oatmeal or smoothies.
